Sulaiman Alrajhi University President Welcomes Maastricht University Delegation to Strengthen Academic and Research Collaboration
Dr Mohammad Almohaimeed, President of Sulaiman Alrajhi University, welcomed a delegation from the university’s academic partner, Maastricht University in the Netherlands, in the presence of senior leaders from the university and the College of Medicine. The visit forms part of the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance international academic cooperation and elevate the quality of its Medicine and Surgery program in line with global standards, reinforcing its leadership in delivering high‑quality medical education. During the meeting, both parties engaged in a thorough discussion of the fundamental aspects of the academic partnership. They meticulously reviewed the objectives of the visit, which primarily aimed to assess and advance the Medicine and Surgery curriculum. The conversation also emphasized the importance of fostering innovation in medical education, exploring creative strategies to enhance teaching methodologies and enrich student learning experiences. Discussions also explored ways to strengthen integration between the two institutions to improve program outcomes and enhance overall efficiency, while highlighting the program’s mission and its alignment with the healthcare sector’s needs. In addition, the Maastricht University delegation conducted a field visit to the College of Medicine to evaluate the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program. The visit included a series of meetings with faculty members, students, and graduates, as well as a review of the college’s quality assurance system and academic assessment mechanisms, ensuring alignment with international best practices adopted by leading medical schools worldwide. The two universities also conducted an extended meeting to explore future opportunities for collaboration in scientific research and the development of joint research projects, reflecting Sulaiman Alrajhi University’s commitment to expanding its global partnerships.
