Executive Master in Economics
Introduction
SRU has launched the Executive Master’s Program in Economics with three innovative and specialized tracks—the first of its kind in the Kingdom. These tracks are: 1) Behavioral Economics, 2) Digital Economics, and 3) Health Economics. The program aims to advance academic leadership, meet market demands, and contribute to the realization of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in developing human capabilities and enhancing the global competitiveness of Saudi citizens.
Mission
To equip professionals with contemporary economic knowledge and enterprising skills. We develop leaders who promote sustainable growth and economic prosperity through rigorous coursework and strategic capstone projects.
Program Tracks
Behavioral Economics Track
Behavioral economics focuses on studying individuals' economic behavior by integrating concepts from economics with psychology and sociology to understand decision-making patterns and human biases. This track emphasizes analyzing consumer behavior, particularly in Saudi Arabia, and employs modern theories such as behavioral nudges and bounded rationality to support public policies and enhance the efficiency of economic decisions.
Digital Economy Track
The digital economy specialization is a contemporary and unique field that analyzes the economic transformations brought about by digitization and modern technology. It aims to understand market behaviors and consumer actions in the digital age. The track focuses on developing skills for economic data analysis, building platform economies, and evaluating the legislative and social impacts of economic decisions, thereby supporting growth and competitiveness both locally and globally.
Health Economics Track
The health economics track is concerned with analyzing health policies and regulations, optimizing expenditure, and enhancing the efficiency of the health sector. It combines economics with health sciences to prepare professionals capable of evaluating health laws, managing resources, and supporting health transformation in the Kingdom, while promoting integration between economic, regulatory, and health aspects.
